性质:锰(II)与镁(II)能对某对酶(如激酶、脱羧酶、水解酶及转移酶等)产生激活作用的蛋白。他们甚至可以互相替代。例如:丙酮酸激酶需要Mn(II)[或Mg(II)和K(I)]维持活性,并催化:但Mn(II)与Mg2+(II)的激活作用也有区别:Mn(II)可与三磷酸腺苷(ATP)的3个磷酸基结合,而Mg(II)只能与其中2个磷酸基结合。当与β-半乳糖苷酶结合时,Mn(II)与该酶结合时的底物是异构乳糖,而Mg(II)则是乳糖。而且Mn(II)结合具有协同作用,Mg(II)则不是。Mn(II)、Mg(II)对含有金属离子的某些外源凝集素也有激活作用。例如:从刀豆中分离出来的伴成豆球蛋白A(concanavalin A)含Mn(II)并与Ca(II)结合,以便使其蛋白构象稳定。外源凝集素能凝集动物红细胞、白细胞及变性组织细胞,并能沉淀糖原及各种糖蛋白。
