Objective To provide anatomical basis for the surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and to observe the accurate location relationship between the dorsal or the ventral of the trigeminal nerve root and the vessels around skull bottom.

retrogasserian rhizotomy
是治疗三叉神经痛的有效疗法之一，作用原理是根据华韧神经退变定律，即切断神经的节后纤维则其中枢段退变，不会再生。Spiller(1901年)首先提出，同年Frazier经颞入路首先获得成功，开始时作后根全切断，后逐渐改进为选择性切断。Dandy(1925年)改用经枕下入路手术，暴露简便，能发现局部病变并有利于保存面部触觉，称为Dandy手术。
