【来源】
为菊科植物关苍术Atractylodes japonica Koidz.ez Kitam. 的根茎。
【植物形态】
多年生草本，高达70cm。叶柄长2.5~3cm；茎下部叶片3~5羽裂，侧裂片长圆形、倒卵形或椭圆形，边缘刺齿平伏或内弯，顶裂片较大；茎上部叶3裂至不分裂。头状花序顶生，下有羽裂的叶状总苞一轮，总苞片6~8层；花多数，两性花与单性花多异株；两面性花有羽状长冠毛，花冠白色，细长管状；雄蕊5；子房下位，密被子白色柔毛。长圆形，瘦果被白色。花期8~9月，果期9~10月。 生于山坡、柞林下、灌丛间。主产黑龙江、吉林、辽宁。
【采制】
同茅苍术。
【性状】
根茎多呈结节状圆柱形，长4~12cm，直径1~2.5cm。表面深棕色，有根痕及细小须根，并残留茎痕。质较轻，折断面不平坦，纤维性。有浓郁的特异香气，味辛、微苦。
【化学成分】
含挥发油，油中含芹烷二烯酮、二乙酰苍术二醇（discetylatractylo-dinol）、苍术酮，另含苍术烯内酯Ⅰ（atraactylenolideⅠ）。
【性味及功能主治】
同茅苍术。
