| 火星卫星 Mars，satellites of 火星有两颗天然卫星。即火卫一和火卫二。1877年由美国的A.霍尔发现。火卫一离火星中心9370千米，公转周期为7小时59分，比火星自转快得多，所以从火星上看来，它是西升东落的。火卫二离火星23500千米，周期30小时18分，它们的形状都很不规则，火卫一的大小为13.5千米×10.8千米×9.4千米，质量估计为1.38×1014千克。这两颗小卫星的表面参差不平，布满了大大小小的陨石坑，火卫一上甚至有一直径达8千米的环形山和环形山组成的山链，还有最深达500米的沟纹。观测表明，它们的轨道并不稳定，火卫一有加速现象，轨道不断降低，而火卫二却在慢慢远离火星。一般认为，火卫是被火星偶然俘获的小行星。 |
