| 奎屯市 位于中国新疆维吾尔自治区西北部 ，准噶尔盆地西南部。面积540平方千米，1990年人口22.5万。有汉、哈萨克、维吾尔、回等民族。1975年在奎屯垦区的工业区基础上设立奎屯市，隶属伊犁哈萨克自治州。因有奎屯河而得名。奎屯系蒙古语严寒之意。县境地势西南高、东北低，大部分是山前冲积平原，奎屯河纵贯西部，市区多渠道。属温带大陆性干旱气候。是以轻工业为主的新兴工业城市，主要有酿酒、卷烟、针织、毛纺、棉纺、化工、印刷、造纸、塑料、食品等工业。农作物有小麦、水稻、大豆、棉花、油菜等。畜牧业饲养牛、羊、马等。 |
