| 白蜡树 Fraxinus 木犀科白蜡属植物的通称。又称梣。本属约70种，主要分布于北半球温带，极少数向南延伸至热带。中国约有20余种，分布最广的是白蜡树。木材坚韧，耐水湿，供家具、农具、胶合板等用；枝条可编筐；树皮称“秦皮”，中医用作清热药；树上放养白蜡虫，以取虫白蜡；又是固沙树种。落叶乔木 ，稀灌木 。奇数羽状复叶，对生 ，稀单叶；花两性，圆锥花序顶生或腋生，花萼小，雄蕊 2 枚；翅果扁平，披针形；种子单生，长圆形。喜光，对霜冻较敏感。喜深厚肥沃湿润土壤，常见于平原或河谷地带。多数种类能耐轻盐碱性土。用种子、插条、埋条等法繁殖。宜结合当地环境条件及经济目的采取不同的作业方法。主要病害有煤烟病和牛藓病。害虫有水曲柳巢蛾、白蜡梢距甲 、灰盔蜡蚧 、四点象天牛、花海小蠹等。
