为杨柳科植物响叶杨的根皮、树皮或叶。
【植物形态】
响叶杨 乔木，高15～30米。嫩枝棕色，具柔毛。叶互生；长枝上的叶卵形，长7～10厘米，宽5～10厘米，基部截形戒心形，具2枚腺体，先端渐尖，边缘锯齿内弯有腺体，幼时至少在叶背有灰色细毛；短枝上的叶卵形或卵圆形，长5～8厘米；叶柄长1.5～3(～6)厘米。花单性，雌雄异株；柔荑花序；雄花序长6～12厘米，苞深裂，边缘有长纤毛，雄蕊7～9，花药红色，花盘具梗，杯形。果序长12～16厘米，蒴果椭圆形，具短柄。花期3月。果期4月。 生于阳坡灌丛中或林缘。分布江苏、浙江、安徽、江西、湖南、湖北、贵州、四川、陕西、云南等地。
【功用主治】
《浙江天目山药植志》："治风痹、四肢不遂，干燥树皮(去粗皮)五钱，酒蒸服。治龋齿，叶，水煎含漱。治损伤瘀血肿痛，根皮加苦参、蛇葡萄根等量，和酒糟捣烂包敷伤处。"
