The vessel of laying pipe and cable in shallow sea is always been used in the work of laying cable and pipeline transportation of oil and gas offshore.

Based on the general design of shallow water pipe and cable laying vessel of Shengli Petroleum Administrative Bureau, the vessel' s design target, fundamental function, main performance parameters, key technology and general layout are intro-duced in detail.

In this paper, a real-time detecting and controlling sys tem designed for offshore cable burying is introduced.
