三魁镇是泰顺县域中部的商贸强镇和交通重镇，地处通衢，省道分泰线贯镇而过。因境内赵洋、西岙、牛顶尖三峰高耸，故地名三魁。全镇总面积63平方公里，辖26个行政村，1个居委会，总人口2.3万人，党员723名。2002年全镇实现工农业总产值4661.11万元，农民人均收入2845元。
近年来，三魁镇农业结构战略性调整步伐加大，建成卢梨高山蔬菜示范基地和官洋特种动物养殖基地。2002年卢梨高山蔬菜基地和甜椒产品被市政府认定为“放心农产品基地和放心农产品”，并被县委确定为“一学两带示范基地”。三魁商业发展较早，在明代即初步形成营岗店（小街）。近几年来，通过规范和拓展市场、办好集市等增强对周边地区的辐射，进一步巩固和加强了三魁作为传统商贸强镇的地位和优势。三魁异地就业人员众多，2002年长年外出就业人员达4431人，实现收入1415.5万元。
三魁境内旅游资源丰富。古廊桥有薛宅桥、刘宅桥、永庆桥等；古民居有张氏九榴等；古寺庙有卢梨崇教寺等，自然风光有刘宅百丈瀑、三折瀑等。
三魁文教卫生事业较为发达。镇内有泰顺第二医院、泰顺第三中学等。三魁镇第一小学2002年获得“省级文明单位”称号。随着三魁高级中学、三魁第二小学立项兴建，三魁将成为我县的教育强镇。
