【来源】
为荨麻科植物西南冷水花的全草。
【植物形态】
西南冷水花 多年生矮小草本。茎肉质，细弱，高5.5～50厘米，分枝或不分枝，绿色或紫色。叶对生，狭卵形或卵形，长3～12厘米，宽1.5～3厘米，先端渐尖或长渐尖，基部圆形，稍斜，全缘或偶有浅波状，上面钟乳体密生，狭条形，基出脉3条；叶柄长0.5～6.5厘米。雌雄异株，稀雌雄同株，花序具细梗；雄花花被片4，雄蕊4；雌花花被片3，不等大，柱头画笔头状。瘦果扁卵形，生疣状突起。 生于山野潮湿处或林下石上。分布于云南、贵州、广西、湖北等地。 本植物的根(狗骨节)亦供药用，另详专条。

夏、秋采集，洗净晒干。

《滇南本草》："辛酸，微温。"

《滇南本草》："治风寒湿痹，筋骨疼痛，痰火痿软，手足麻木.舒筋活络药酒方中用之。"
