形态特征:
常绿乔木,高达25m,胸径1m以上。小枝粗壮、无毛、大枝平展。树冠在壮年期为塔形或广卵形,老年期呈盘壮或伞形。树干下部树皮黑灰色,皮厚,龟裂。二年生以上枝条带灰褐色或深灰色,树皮呈纵状开裂,裂片较厚或龟纹状开裂,裂片薄。针叶2针一束,长10~15cm,径约1.5mm,质硬,树脂道5~8或更多,边生,叶鞘宿存。花单性,雌雄同株,雄球话橙黄色,雌球花绿紫色。球果卵圆形,果实比原种油松大,径与长相近,成熟时呈淡橙褐色或灰褐色,有短梗,常宿存树上数年不落。

分布与习性:
原产中国,强阳性树,喜光。能耐-25℃低温。耐干燥气候。对土壤要求不严,能耐干旱瘠薄土壤,能生长于干旱瘠薄沙土中,自然界中也常见于山岭得陡崖之上,但在低温及粘重土壤中生长不良。深根性树种,垂直根系及水平根系均发达。
