性质:指有机高分子制成的光导纤维。有两大类:(1)阶段指数型(SI),亦称芯鞘型,常用PMMA或PS为芯材,透明氟树脂或PMMA为鞘材,鞘材折射率比芯材小0.1左右,PM-MA-POF在650nm波长下的光损耗为1000dB/m,在570nm下最低仅为70dB/m,耐热性80℃;PS-POF在670nm下最低光损耗为114dB/m,而热固型芯POF耐热温度高,制法主要采用芯鞘型复合熔纺法,用于汽车、室内和地区网络等通信领域及装饰灯;(2)分布指数或渐变指数型(GI),具有聚焦性能,由两段共聚法、光共聚法、热拉伸法等制取。
