合资铁路中国的合资铁路指铁道部与地方政府、企业和其他投资单位共同投资建设、联合经营的铁路路网干线和重要支线。合资铁路是集资建路的一种重要形式，它是在198。年以后发展起来的。到1992年底，全国共有合资铁路22条，总长8 000公里，投资总额近35G亿元。它们当中包括二茂、北疆、西延、集通、广梅汕、南昆、成达等一批重要的铁路干线。合资铁路适应了市场经济的发展，打破了铁路独家建设、独家经营的局面，加快了铁路建设的步伐。如北疆铁路、三茂铁路、西延铁路都是国家路网规划中的重要线路。多渠道筹集资金，合资建设铁路，将中央主管部门的行业优势同地方政府的行政优势结合在一起，在降低工程造价、节省投资、缩短工期，促进地方经济发展方面发挥了重要作用:合资铁路在经营管理方面也创造出了一些成功的经验和模式，如三茂铁路的自贷、自建、自管、自营、自偿的五自一体的新模式。1992年，国务院对合资铁路给予了充分肯定，批转了国家计委、铁道部《关于发展中央和地方合资建设铁路的意见》。1993年，国家计委和铁道部又联合颁发了《关于发展中央和地方合资建设铁路的意见》实施办法。合资铁路现已成为中国铁路建设的一种重要形式。
