西周骨器制作工艺 一九七六年，在陕西扶风云塘，发掘丁一处西周骨器作坊，清理出骨器近二百件，出土了两万多斤废骨料，大量骨器半成品，绝大部分带有锯、削、锉、磨等加工痕迹。同时还出土铜锯、铜刀、铜钻和砺石等制骨工具，这对当时骨器制作工艺有了较明确的认识。举骨笄为例：１、选材。以兽类骨骼的关节部位（骨臼和关节头）为最多，如肱骨、桡骨、尺骨、掌骨和肩胛骨前缘、后缘等，占总量百分之九十。可见，兽类的四肢骨，是制造骨器的主要原料。２、锯割。用锯或刀将其两端的关节头截去，然后顺着骨体剖成粗细适用的长条。３、削锉。把劈裂后的骨条，用刀削去棱角，然后锉成圆锥状，制成骨笄的雏型。４、磨光。把具雏型的骨笄在砺石上打磨光滑。就是成品。５、雕嵌。有些骨笄磨光后，还在顶端雕镂纹饰，或者另外雕刻笄帽插装上去，有的在顶端还嵌有绿松石。
