【来源】
为豆科植物苏木蓝的根。
【植物形态】
苏木蓝 矮灌木，高30～50厘米。茎直立有棱，灰绿色。单数羽状复叶互生，小叶通常为7片，椭圆形或倒卵状椭圆形，长2～4厘米，宽1.2～2.8厘米，上面青绿色，下面灰绿色，先端钝圆，具小尖针，基部圆钝或阔楔形，两面均紧贴白毛。总状花序腋生，长10～20厘米；花大，长1～1.5厘米，粉红色到紫色；萼杯状，萼齿三角形，背面有毛；花药两端有毛。荚果圆柱形，长4.5厘米。花期5月。 生于山坡丛林中。分布江苏、安徽、河南、山西、贵州等地。

微苦，平。

清热，补虚.
