是人体内的一个重要的防御系统,由单核细胞、各组织中的巨噬细胞以及原单核和幼单核细胞组成,这些细胞均属单核细胞系列,来自骨髓的造血干细胞。巨噬细胞是此系统的效应细胞,分布很广,并随所在部位不同而有不同的形态和命名,如肝内的Kupffer细胞、结缔组织中的组织细胞等。巨噬细胞具有吞噬作用(抗感染作用)、杀伤肿瘤细胞作用、特异性免疫应答中抗原提呈作用、激活和调节免疫应答等各种功能。
