齿符徐节孝，名山一席，以进士教授里门。

【注释】 高公祠：祀清道光进士高士魁，字映斗，号紫峰，山阳人。以知县补用，携家人川二十年，所莅地皆修建学校，亲自授课。归乡主讲奎文书院。媲：音“譬”，比得上。汉文翁：西汉文氏，名舒人，为蜀郡守时修学宫、兴教化。汉郡国皆立学校自文翁始。齿：并列。徐节孝：徐积，字仲车，山阳人，北宋进士，事父母至孝，居乡以廉称，文学显于东南，苏轼等过淮，都亲往拜会。不愿外出为官，遂终楚州教授。政和六年，赐谥“节孝处士”。
【解读】 上下联各用一身份、经历相近的著名人物作比较，这是祠联常用的手法，以衬托出祀主的地位。然王琛此联尤显得贴切、自然，文字明白如话。“齿符”一语，一方面可以解释为二人的德行可并列。另一方面也可解释为二人享年相当，均为75 岁。
