    　　羽纹纲等片藻目等片藻科的 1属。壳面棱形至长椭圆形。花纹左右对称，与纵轴垂直。纵轴上拟壳缝不明显，无壳缝。壳环面长方形。细胞内无隔片。色素体每细胞1～4个，也有多个的，依种类而异。复大孢子每细胞一个。
　　
　　本属共有135种，中国有 10种以上。如条纹脆杆藻。常为群体，细胞相连成带状，或锯齿状群体，少数星状。海水淡水均有，也有化石种类。
