The mudstone caprocks of biogenetic gas reservoir of Quaternary in Qaidam Basin is in the early stage of diagenesis, with the characteristics of poor consolidation, relatively high porosity, big pore diameter and relatively lower breakthrough pressure, which results in the weak sealing of biogenetic gas reservoirs.
柴达木盆地第四系生物气藏泥岩盖层处于成岩阶段早期,具有成岩性差、高孔隙度、大孔径、低突破压力的特点,造成生物气藏整体处于弱封闭状态,而大规模气田区的存在,必定有其独特的封闭机理。

陆良盆地生物气藏纵向上主要分布于上第三系茨营组三、四段,深度400~800 m,其主要控制因素为:1)陆良盆地在新第三纪时强烈拉张沉降,快速沉积补偿,茨营组最大沉积速率达500 m/Ma,形成有利于生物气成藏的构造环境;2)茨营组三、四段发育富含草本的腐殖型有机质,而茨二段则以腐泥腐殖型母质为主;3)深洼区茨营组三、四段埋深适中,地温为30~60℃,有利于甲烷菌大规模繁殖;4)在400 m深度以下,硝酸盐及硫酸盐基本被消耗完毕,甲烷菌开始大量繁殖;5)在此深度范围内,泥岩孔隙空间达10~140μm,有利于甲烷菌的大规模活动;6)在此埋深下,泥岩甲烷形成速率足够快,从而阻止下覆甲烷气藏的扩散。

鄂尔多斯盆地是一个稳定的克拉通,区内晚古生代经历了中晚石炭世近海平原至二叠纪内陆河流、湖泊三角洲两个沉积阶段,沉积地层中三角洲平原河道、三角洲前缘河口砂坝、潮道砂体等各种成因的砂体极为发育,砂体处于生烃源岩之上、或夹于生烃源岩之中,气源条件优越,形成大面积分布的低孔、低渗、低压、低丰度隐蔽性眇岩岩性气藏。
