性质:又称碳纤维前驱体。指生产碳纤维用的聚合物原丝。不同的品种性能要求各异,聚丙烯腈(PAN)原丝的分子量比服用腈纶高,强度>5cN/dtex,通用级和标准级原丝也可采用纺织用大丝束。高性能品的灰分要尽可能少,为了制备高强高模碳纤维,可选用PAN与黏胶、聚乙烯醇(PVA)、聚酰亚胺等的混合原丝;沥青原丝则有各向同性、预中间相、潜在中间相和中间相之分;黏胶原丝则要求α-纤维素含量高者,长短丝皆可用;酚醛原丝在未交联处理前非常脆弱,交联后方有实用价值。制法为PAN和黏胶原丝以湿纺为主,沥青和酚醛原丝以熔纺为主。用途主要制碳纤维,PAN原丝可作石棉代用品等,酚醛纤维可作抗燃纤维。
