The paper has a brief introduction to mine tunneling method and describes the design concept and construction essentials of drain tunnels with the mine tunneling method through an example of a certain municipal sewage interception and discharge work.

The principles and methods on how to fulfill the new type system of intercepting pollution for rainwater and rainwater in filtration in city are introduced.

Yangzhou City sewage interception project is responsible for sewage and part of rainwater collection and transmission in the old town, the southeast, and the northeast parts of the city.

The design of the sewage interception and the!key points during construction were detailed including determination of the overall plan,design of the intercepting well and sewer,choice of pipe,foundation treatment,revetment repair and reinforcement and so on.

Aiming at the three sewage interception facilities(Da Wuchuan,Changqiao and Meilong) of Suzhou River water system sewage interception and treatment project,the detailed design plan and construction were put forward by the author.
