阿拉伯经济开发科威特基金科威特政府为向阿拉伯及其他发展中国家提供经济援助而设立的基金。该基金设立于1961年，最初的法定资本为14亿美元，80年代初增至70亿美元，从而成为资本最雄厚的国家发展援助基金。该基金的宗旨是帮助阿拉伯国家及其他发展中国家发展经济。科威特基金的主席由科威特首相担任。由6名实业界代表和政府官员组成的董事会负责组织具体工作，董事由首相任命，因而该基金又是规格最高的国家发展援助组织。科威特基金援助活动的范围涉及亚洲、非洲和大洋洲的一些发展中国家，其中近三分之二的援助资金给予了阿拉伯国家。援助的主要部门为交通、通讯、能源、农业和加工制造业等。基金提供援助的主要形式是提供长期优惠贷款，贷款期限为10~50年，是阿拉伯石油生产国设立的国家发展援助基金中期限最长的，宽限期为1~10年，贷款利率为0.5%~7%。该基金只对具体的建设项目提供贷款，对每一个项目提供贷款的数额不得超过项目或方案总费用的50%。70年代中期以后，该基金开始对项目投资前活动提供无偿的技术援助。
