Study on the influencing factors of biological oxidation pretreatment for alkaline wastewater from oil refinery

On the basis of analyzing the alkaline wastewater from refinery, the pretreatment of alkaline wastewater by biologic catalytic oxidation process was proposed and the related operation parameters were confirmed.

When the sulphide, COD and the concentration of phenol in the alkaline wastewater were 94-800 mg/L, 500 -4 500mg/ L and 70-800 mg/L respectively and when the hydraulic retention time was 3-6 h and the aerating rate was 16 m3/h.
