食蚜蝇科昆虫的一种(见图)。分布于中国东北、河北、江苏、江西、四川、云南、西藏；亚洲西部和北部、欧洲、北非、美洲。捕食棉蚜及其他各种蚜虫。体长14毫米左右。头部棕黄色，眼毛密，雄性复眼上部小眼面较大；额鼓出，尤以雄性更显，毛黑色，长密；颜毛黄色，雄性在两侧沿眼缘处具明显黑毛。小盾片黄棕色，大部被黑长毛，仅前缘及侧缘混以少数黄毛。腹部黑色，有黄斑3对，第1对平置，第2、3对略作向外倾斜，即黄斑的内、外前角不在同一横线上，前缘凹入明显，第4、5背板后缘黄色。
