无色至白色块状固体,无嗅无味。密度0.90g/cm3。熔点60-85℃。不溶于水。微溶于乙醇。溶于苯、甲苯、乙醚、三氯甲烷、矿物油。延伸性好,低温下不脆。加热粘耐性好,与其它蜡类混合可抑制结晶的生长。与液体油混合时,可防止油分分离。主要成分为C31以上的支链饱和烃、环状烃和直链烃等。
生产方法:主要采用精制法。以石油的含蜡润滑油馏份为原料,经蒸馏提取C31以上支链饱和烃的馏份,再经脱油、脱色而得。
用途:矿物性蜡。广泛用作发蜡、唇膏、香脂、冷霜等化妆品的基质原料。对微生物十分稳定,对皮肤和毛发的粘附性好。熔点高,可与其它低熔点油脂和蜡调节适宜的熔点,以供各种不同的需要。
