Based on the catalytic effect of mercury on the precipitation reaction of potassium ferrocyanide with potassium ferricyanide and the precipitation deposited on the magnetoelastic foil resulting in the decrease of resonance frequency of the foil,a catalytic precipitation wireless sensing method for the determination of trace mercury using a magnetoelastic sensor has been developed.
