【来源】
为百合科植物蒲圻贝母Fritllaria puqiensis G.D.Yu et G.Y.Chen的鳞茎。
【植物形态】
多年生草本，高30～100cm。鳞茎扁球形，直径2～3cm,2(～3)枚鳞片肉质肥厚，大小近等或不等，抱合。茎下面2枚叶多对生，其余的对生或轮生，有时兼有散生；叶片披针形、狭披针形或线状披针形，长6.5～18cm，宽0.4～2.3cm，先端不卷曲或弯曲，有时稍弯曲。花1～3朵，少有4朵，俯垂，钟状，淡黄色具紫色斑点或方格；苞片1～4枚，叶状，比叶小，先端通常强烈卷曲；花被片外轮3枚，宽披针形或狭椭圆形，长3.4～5.7cm，宽0.5～1.5cm，内轮3枚，宽披针形或近椭圆形，与外轮花被片近等长，宽0.8～1.9cm，蜜腺窝明显凸出；雄蕊长约为花被片的2/5～4/5，花丝不具小乳突，花药近基着；柱头裂片长3～6.5mm。 生于海拔200～400m的低山地区。主产湖北，多栽培。

【性状】
鳞茎略呈倒圆锥形或扁圆形，直径1.7～2.8cm，高1.3～2.4cm。表面黄棕色，有颗粒状突起。外层两枚鳞叶大小近等，顶端开裂，底部不平整。味苦。
【化学成分】
含蒲贝酮碱。 生于海拔200～400m的低山地区。主产湖北，多栽培。
【性味】
同湖北贝母。
【功能主治】
清热润肺、止咳化痰、散结。
