在隔绝空气的全血标准，在温度38℃、PaCO2为5.33kPa、SaO2为100%时所测得的血浆HCO3-的含量。正常值为22～27mmol/L，平均为24mmol/L。标准重碳酸盐是呼吸因素完全正常情况下测得，其数值的增减反映体内碳酸氢盐储备量，反映代谢因素的改变，故代谢性酸中毒时SB减少，代谢性碱中毒时SB增高。
