Based on intensive research of Turbo rate matching algorithm of 3GPP protocol, a fast rate matching implementation scheme with DSP chip is proposed in this paper.

According to the 3GPP specifications,the paper presents the principles and characteristics of the rate matching algorithm,compares the uplink and downlink′s characteristics,and discusses how the rate matching attributes(RMi) make different QoS possible.

With optimum puncturing designation and suitable scheme of rate matching, these two UEP schemes can achieve intra-class unequal error protection, which makes the protection for source bits with different importance more accur.
