性质：如果要考虑的因素很多，由于试验条件的限制，不可能在同一次实验中对每个因素的所用水平都同时进行考察，这时可将试验对象分组，所分的组称为区组（block）。在每一个区组内，如果每个因素的所有水平都同时出现，称为完全区组试验（complete block design），如果在每次试验中，只有部分因素出现，此称区组的不完全性。但是在全部试验中，欲考察的所有因素中任何两因素都有机会在某一次实验中进行比较，而且每一因素在不同实验中被考察的次数是相等的，这样使任何两因素之间都有可比性，体现了区组的“平衡”性质，这种试验方法称为平衡不完全区组试验。
