本属分布域狭窄,只有3种，主要产于欧洲，其中分布较广的钝节拟丽藻，在中国的华中和西南地区也常见。拟丽藻多生于较深的湖泊和池塘里，常有轮叶黑藻、狐尾藻等水生维管束植物伴生。
