由4个转动副组成并经特殊安排的空间连杆机构(见图)。这种机构是英国的贝内特于 1903年提出的。在一般情况下,由4个转动副组成的空间机构的自由度为零，但经过贝内特的特殊安排，这种机构获得了 1个自由度。机构的安排条件是：①相对杆长度相等，且转动副轴线交错角相等；②相对杆的转动副轴线交错角皆反向，即一杆的交错角为α或β，则其相对之杆的交错角为-α或-β；③构件长度与转动副轴线交错角间满足的关系。在英国剑桥大学的工程试验室中，尚陈列有一些贝内特机构的模型，受到了机构学界的珍视。贝内特机构在理论上是颇有研究价值的，是机构学中的一个值得探索的问题。
