性质:又名生物素。无色针状晶体。熔点232~233℃。溶于水和乙醇。不溶于石油醚和氯仿等。在普通温度下相当稳定。在中性或酸性的溶液中也稳定。遇强碱或氧化剂则被分解。在正常情况下,人体肠内细菌可以自行合成。仅用于维生素H缺乏症。主要以化合物形式存在于肝、肾、胰、酵母、牛乳、蛋黄等中,可以离析而得。也可由半胱氨酸或庚二酸等作起始原料经一系列反应合成。
