性质:是指噬菌体DNA被包入噬菌体的头部之中。噬菌体感染细胞后能独立进行DNA复制和形成噬菌体粒子,增殖的DNA裹人噬菌体的头部,进而完成噬菌体粒子装配。如是入噬菌体,则这一反应也能在试管内再现。在被包人的DNA中,必须具有黏性末端(COS)的结构和一定范围的大小(分子量1.9 ×107~3.0×107)。在试管中把重组的DNA裹入到噬菌体头部,通过感染可高频率地进入细菌中,因而成为基因工程中经常采用的一种重要方法。
