烟羽 plume 从烟囱中连续排放出来的烟体。因外形呈羽毛状而得名。排放物的量通常用排放率(千克/时或克/秒)表示;排放物在下风方向的分布,一 般用排放期间的平均浓度(毫克/米3)表示 。通过示踪烟羽的扩散实验或实际观察 ,可以看到烟羽外形是与天气情况和大气湍流状况密切相关的 。如果粗略地将大气稳定度划分为不稳定、中性和稳定3种,则烟羽的几何形态可概括为如图所示的a、b、c、d、e5种。图右边定性地画出污染源下风方向某一截面处垂直穿过烟轴中心的平均浓度廓线,示意出烟羽的几何形态和浓度沿垂直方向分布的关系。在大气湍流强度近似均匀的情况下,浓度分布曲线相对于烟羽轴是对称的,符合正态分布(见图a、b、c);相反则是非正态分布(见图d、e)。
