On the occasion of celebrating the 80th anniversary(1928-2008) of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics(IAP),Chinese Academy of Sciences,the authors very briefly reviewed some new results in the research of the interannual climate variability and short-term climate prediction in recent years,most in the past five years.
