      霜霉目的1科。因其无性阶段的孢囊梗状似霜霉,有性阶段及其生理特性又象疫霉而得名。菌丝发达,分枝繁茂。孢囊梗高度分化,长短相差很大,由数百至千余微米,于顶端双分叉一至数次,或在主轴两边形成近双分叉的小枝。小分枝差异不大,同步分化,顶端逐渐变细,每一顶端又同步形成单个孢子囊,在同一孢囊梗上所形成的孢子囊成熟度基本相同。孢子囊成熟后遇水即脱落,小枝小不再形成孢子囊,但在某些孢囊梗的小枝顶部或分叉中部会重新长出长梗,梗端再不断分枝,形成新的二级孢囊梗,上面着生新的同步形成的孢子囊。孢子囊脱落后,在二级孢囊梗上还可形成三级、四级或更多级的孢囊梗。孢囊梗的这种再长现象叫做多级有限生长。孢子囊呈柠檬形或椭圆形,大小为(24~45)×(15~28)微米,有明显的乳突,具短梗,萌发产生游动孢子或生芽管。藏卵器多球形,平滑,卵周质不明显或者没有。雄器多围生,少数侧生。卵孢子球形,平滑,直径18~30微米。
  
  本科仅有1属1种。荔枝霜疫霉引起荔枝果实的腐烂。过去认为此菌仅见于中国广东、台湾等省,以后又在新几内亚见到报道(见图)。
