性质:在单倍性生物和双单性生物的生活史中出现的同一细胞中有两套相同染色体同时存在的时期。如粗糙脉孢菌(Neurospora crassa)是单倍性生物,在其有性繁殖时,或通过受精丝和小形分生孢子的受精作用形成二倍体接合子,或由两个不同接合型的体细胞接合成二倍体合子细胞,这类二倍体随即进行减数分裂,产生单倍体有性孢子;在其准性生殖时,异核体菌丝中的单倍体核会以很小概率融合成为二倍体核,这类二倍体可无性繁殖。如酿酒酵母(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)是双单性生物,通过α型和a型两种单倍体细胞的接合,产生二倍体细胞,它既可无性繁殖,也可在一定条件下进行减数分裂产生四个单倍体子囊孢子。
