从castelo de são jorge可以俯瞰整个里斯本和静静流过的特茹河。远处的大桥连接特茹河的南北两岸，叫ponte 25 de abril，纪念1974年4月25日葡萄牙人民在“丁香革命”中推翻军政府，建立民主。
这座桥是金门大桥的姊妹桥——当地人也叫四月二十五日桥，是欧洲的第一大桥，主跨1013米，横跨tejo河两岸，极具地标意义。
桥的那一头是已经树立几百年的航海保护神，一个张开双臂的基督高高的矗立在山上，当年航海的人们总是在这雕塑下出发，前往未知的世界。
