Taking Wangerhe dam in Guizhou as an example, a 3D simulating modeling is performed by way of nonlinear FEM for the piecewise CFRD, based on which a thoroughly study is made on the effect of a piecewise dam axis on the dam body as well as the deformation and stress of the concrete face slab, providing helpful reference in design and construction of piecewise CFRD.
