      导弹核武器打击的幅员较小的陆地或水域目标。它的幅员大小是与核弹毁伤半径比较而言的。目标半径(最大长度的一半)与核弹毁伤半径之比不超过1/5者,都可视为点目标。抗超压强度较高的点目标称为硬点目标,如地下军事指挥中心、导弹发射井。无防护或抗超压强度较低的点目标,称为软点目标,如地面厂房。
  
  在计算点目标的毁伤概率或生存概率时,点目标的幅员可略去不计,当成具有一定抗超压强度的几何点。核弹头对点目标的毁伤半径,可根据核弹威力(以TNT当量表示)、爆炸高度及目标的抗超压强度,用公式算出或在专用图表中查出。当弹头爆炸点(爆心投影点)位于以点目标为中心,以毁伤半径为半径的圆形区域时,即认为点目标被毁。因此,对点目标的毁伤概率,就是爆炸点位于该圆域的概率。爆炸点在目标平面上的散布规律服从正态分布。其散布指标可用圆概率误差 (以平均弹着点为中心的半数必中圆──弹着概率为50%的圆的半径)来表示。为了达到同样的毁伤概率和精度提高1倍的效果,如果只靠增加弹头数量来实现,发数需增至4倍;如果只靠增大弹头当量来实现,当量需增至8倍。由此可见,为了提高对点目标的毁伤能力,提高精度最为有效,增加弹头数量次之,加大弹头当量又次之。因此,美、苏在改进其导弹核武器技术时,始终把提高制导精度与多弹头技术放在优先地位。
