On evaluation of elemental background in topsoil: With Hg, Cd, Pb and As in fluvio-aquatic soil of Taiyuan basin as an example.;

Types and characteristics of Jurassic prototype basins in southwestern Tarim basin;

Jurassic basin-range tectonic pattern and depositional features of prototype basins in the Inner Mongolia-Gansu-Qinghai-Ningxia region;

Combining seismic facies and single-well facies,sedimentary facies of the region are restored;hence the prototype basin is also restored.

In the exploration practice, it is found that the inadequate knowledge about the Mesozoic proto-type basin in the western Qaidam basin slowed the oil and gas exploration in this area.

The study involves several aspects: structural features of faults and fractures in Northwestern margin in Junggar basin, geologic models of various segments, controlling of structures on the sedimentation, tectonic setting of the proto-type basin, comparing of hydrocarbon reservoiring condition and oil and gas accumulati.

Based on study of influence of above memtioned tectonic units on southern North China block,and what with mapping of basin prototypes,it was indicated that the Meso-Cenozoic basins underwent multiple juxtaposition and superimposition of basin prototypes with compression,tenso-shear,expanding and weak compression.

Three basin prototypes are generated in the southeast of Junggar Basin: filling basin in the post-rift sequence(P_2-T_(2-3)),foredeep basin in the post-rift sequence(T~~3__3-J_(1-2)) and intracontinental foreland basin(J_3-E).

The results of tectonic geochemistry analysis of volcanic rocks and sandstone show that Lanping-Simao basin prototype possesses the natures of continental margin rift basin.
