      材料力学中的一个变形假设,其内容是:垂直于杆件轴线的各平截面(即杆的横截面)在杆件受拉伸、压缩或纯弯曲而变形后仍然为平面,并且同变形后的杆件轴线垂直。根据这一假设,若杆件受拉伸或压缩,则各横截面只作平行移动,而且每个横截面的移动可由一个移动量确定;若杆件受纯弯曲,则各横截面只作转动,而且每个横截面的转动可由两个转角确定。利用杆件微段的平衡条件和应力-应变(见应力和应变)关系,即可求出上述移动量和转角,进而可求出杆内的应变和应力。如果杆上不仅有力矩,而且还有剪力,则横截面在变形后不再为平面。但对于细长杆,剪力引起的变形远小于弯曲变形,平截面假设近似可用。
