Three kinds of chelating fibers containing triazohhion functional group were synthesized by crosslinking polyacryloni- trile fiber with anhydrous hydrazine,ethylenediamine,diethylenetriamine separately and subsequently reacting with thiosemicar- bazide using N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)as a solvent and metallic sodium as a catalyst.

Polyacrylonitrile fiber was modified into a chelating fiber containing amidoxime group by adding hydroxylamine, resulting from that nitrile group was transformed into amidoxime group.

A series of chelating resins were synthesized by the reactions of mercaptoamine resins with alkoxylepithiopropanes or dialkylaminoepithiopropanes.
