      化学成分为TiO2、晶体属正交(斜方)晶系的氧化物矿物。英文名源出于纪念英国结晶学家和矿物学家H.J.布鲁克(Brooke)。与金红石和锐钛矿成同质三象。除通常均呈板状晶形、具两个方向的不完全解理、硬度和比重稍低外,板钛矿的其他物理性质、产出条件和用途都与金红石相似,但不如金红石稳定和常见。
