| 气压梯度力 pressure gradient force 在大气中由于气压在空间的分布不均匀,而作用于气块上的力。对单位质量的气块而言,气压梯度力的方向与等压面垂直,且从高气压指向低气压;它的大小与气压梯度的数值成正比,与空气密度成反比。水平方向上的气压梯度力在水平面上垂直于等压线,且由高气压指向低气压。在地面天气图上,经常存在一些高、低气压中心。通常在高气压区内,气块所受的水平气压梯度力垂直于等压线且由高气压中心指向外;而在低气压区内,气块所受的水平气压梯度力垂直于等压线且指向低气压中心。由于在大气中气压随高度的增加而减少,因此通常铅直方向上的气压梯度力与重力的方向相反。 |
