This paper introduces brief status on two natural protection areas on the former river of Lower-Jingjiang,and represents the river characteristics of Lower-Jingjiang,which is a typical meandering river and has complicated connecting retation with Dongting Lake,and the complexity of its river evolution.

Based on the propounding of the conception of sustainable management of natural protection areas, the paper analyses the systems and restrictive problems that influence the management, and in the end, puts forward suggestions to materialize the new system of sustainable management of the natural protection areas in China.
