补充资料：国际老年学学会
研究老年学的国际性学术团体。1950年 7月 9日在比利时的列日市召开第一次国际老年学大会上正式成立。参加成立会议的有来自欧美14个国家 113名代表。会上原则通过《国际老年学学会联合会章程草案》，同年12月正式公布。该学会的宗旨是：①推动会员机构进行生物、医学、行为和社会诸学科（包括社会心理学科）的研究，并倡导会员机构之间的合作。②促进培训高水平的研究老化的人才。③促进各老年机构关心各种国际问题。④倡导和帮助召开由理事会确定的国际老年学会议。
国际老年学学会定期举行以科学讨论为主的国际会议。第二次国际会议于1951年在美国圣路易斯市举行，此后每隔3年召开一次；1981年后，改为每4年举行一次国际大会。间歇期间组织地区性会议。
中国学者应邀参加了1985年在纽约举行的第13次国际老年学大会，1988年中国老年学学会正式参加国际老年学学会,1989年派出6位学者参加了在墨西哥阿卡普科尔举行的第14次大会。
