Shen developed a deep interest in drama from childhood, but because of certain thoughts of drama, his creation of drama-style works was destined to experience an early ending, though these works could be considered "gymnastics of life" for their great value as raw materials and contained some much appreciable unadorned dramatic interest and natural comic quality.
