Discussed in the paper are the concept of life-long sports,the current situation and existing problems in PE at colleges,plus the theoretical foundation and innovative measures for teaching reform of PE at colleges.

College physical education reform and students lifelong PE

Through the illustration of the lifelong PE theory and the analysis of the situation of college PE education,this paper studies the trend of college PE reform and explores the educational pattern by which links college PE when the lifelong PE to meet the needs of high-speed development of the modern society.

The article proposes that the methods of cultivating students ability to study independently and developing students personality should be used as the crucial content in enhancing the all-round quality of education and cultivating the lifelong PE ideology in the reform of college education through analysing the connotation,function and cultivating methods of the ability of self-dependence study.
